The Indonesia Sommelier Association (ISA) is a non-profit organization which is affiliated to The Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI), founded in Reims (France) in June 1969, and which has the following aims:
To bring together the national Sommellerie associations (one member association per country) and to promote their founding where they do not yet exist
To co-ordinate actions aimed at developing and advancing the profession by various means (training courses, etc.)
To enhance the Sommelier's profession by educating the consumer
To defend the ethics of the profession
The Island of Gods, Bali finally saw the inauguration of the Indonesia Sommelier Association Bali Chapter at Aston Beach Resort and Spa Nusa Dua on November 12th 2012, with a one-day intensive Wine workshop, a cocktail reception, a press conference and the inauguration itself.
This prestigious association’s gathering was attended by 6 wine Masters from Europe and also board members of The Indonesia Sommelier Association which officially announced the inauguration of the ISA-Bali Chapter. The first founding 28 members were present.
